Cook Island Language Week

Kia Orana!!

Last week it was Cook Island Language week across New Zealand. It is a chance for kiwis to celebrate the rich culture of the Cook Islands. At Meadowbank School some juniors and seniors learned cook island dancing and also about the Tivaevae - a special quilt made by the women from the Cook Islands. We also ended the week sharing about the Cook Islands culture in assembly. Watch the video to see the highlights of our activities from last week.

  1. Great for our small Cook Is students and community see that our school values and recognises their culture, and that they can be proud of and share their culture with others
